Please help to understand the procedure. Firstly understand that Vedic rishis and seers placed great emphasis on fire worship and also sun worship. Infact, fire was representative of the effulgence of the sun a sort of gross sun I had earlier given a posting on Mahaganapathy and Chandi Homam. I have filed the Tantreeki version of Agni Mukham for the benefit of members.
I found this in the devipuram site recently uploaded. Agnimukham is not a homam in the strict sense. It is a preparation for the Homam. In the sruti-mantras it is said, agnih sarva-devatah: "Fire is the aggregate of all demigods. It is through Agni, or fire, that the Lord accepts all sacrificial oblations. The one filed has come mysteriously from Chinacharam and is brief with more power six set. So I found it useful. I really dont know whether the people who have posted in their site clearly understand the power and the origin of the mantras and the Tantreeka agnimukha homam as given in the chinachara pattern.
As I have been saying in my earlier postings, I have been impressed and influenced by the traditions of China and Japan with Taoism being my major interest in this area. It is clear that the chinas have had contact with the Indians over a long period and have imbibed various forms of Hindu thought. It is also well-known that the bauddha influence on the chIna-s was profound from the early phase of the foreign expansion of the bauddha-mata.
Especially, the emphasis on the desha-bhasha as against the deva-bhasha in the transmission of the early bauddha doctrine resulted in a profound change amongst the china-s, which corressponded to the shift from the peculiar literary chIna-bhasha to the colloquial chIna-bhaSha, with incorporation of indic terminology in translation.
We distinguish the spread of maha-chinachara, from the early layer of. While the china-s and their Indian teachers definitely used Chinese translations for explaining the texts to the native china-s, Sanskrit with its paninian grammar was the principle ritual language.
Secondly chinachAra despite being borne in the garb of the nastIka bauddha-mata principally focussed on Hindu deities and ritual beneath this garb. These features along with the biographical allusions regarding chinacharyas from India suggest that they were primarily brahmaNa or kshatriya scholars who had fallen to the nastIka mata and carried their internal tantric tradition relatively unchanged, just like nagarjuna, the nastika savant. This basic pattern lead me to investigate the issue of the earliest texts of maha-chainachara in the middle China and the upa-chinachara-s not of so much of later Tibet, but those of the Turko-Mongol khaganates of Central Asia.
China is. He compiled a tantric manual in Sanskrit and also translated into chIna-bhASha for the benefit of his students there. A quick examination of this text restored into Sanskrit by the learned vaiShNava showed that it has 2 parts. The first is the nakShatra krama vidhAnaM, which provides a relatively simple vidhi for the worship of the nakShatra devatA-s and some oblations to them. The second part is the ShaD-mahA-mantra vidhAnaM, which describes 6 mantra-s like those found in the uddAmareshvara tantra, begining with the praNava and having agni-jArA as the terminal.
It describes the vidhi for a version of the tantrIka agnimukhaM differing in details from the commonly prescribed one as per the bhargava tradition. The 6 mantra-s are used in offering oblations in the prescribed homa. It was just at this time that the Shanyue of the Huns, Khan Ruhan known in chIna translation as Liu Yuan was uniting his forces for a huge expansionist campaign on the steppes. He seems to have left an immense impression on the chInas and hUnas, who describe in amazement how he used mantras-s that deployed various yakShiNi-s, chetaka-s, shAkinis and DAkini-s.
He is also said to have had a ghaNTa prayoga, where he could use bells sounding in shrines to carry out prashna-s. The china-s and hUna-s declare that there was never any one else who had his mantra siddhi-s ever amongst chInAchArya-s of any later age.
He is said to have told the Hun Khan and his son the positions of their enemy armies with his prayoga-s. Most of his compendium of tantric formulae is now lost both in its original Sanskrit and Chinese translation.
Agnimukham procedure is given in Rigveda but I think it also has other sources too. One more interesting thing about Agnimukham is that the yoni melana union of yoni and linga of shiva shakthi is done here Tantreekally and is most pleasing to Devi shakthi in the Agni Agnijihwe' pramunchathe' dukkhaan sarvam Agnimukhe' sarvasukham pradaasyathi yonimelanadwaram. It is also interesting to note that Agnimukham is done in an expert manner in most samavedi Namboothiri marriages in Kerala.
As I broached upon at the outset Tantreeka Mahaganapthy Homam uses Agnimukham as a precursor to the moola mantra homam for the yoni melana reason and also to impart mantra-chaitanya to the fire and make it fit for Homacharam.
Anyone who has been initiated into Homachara and Tantrachara can do the homa. Vaideeki Agnimukham is different. Srividya upasakas use it too for srividya Homam and it is done under the guidance of one's preceptor. Hope this helps for now I will reel out more on this later. O Agni, overcome our enemies and our calamities;Drive away all disease and the Rakshasas--Send down abundance of watersFrom the ocean of the sky.

The one filed has come mysteriously from Chinacharam and is brief with more power six set mantras than the Bhargava tradition. We distinguish the spread of maha-chinachara, from the early layer of bauddha spread, because unlike that layer, it used samskritam as the main vehicle of transmission.
He seems to have left an immense impression on the chInas and hUnas, who describe in amazement how he used mantras-s that deployed various yakShiNi-s, chetaka-s, shAkinis and DAkini-s as he wished. Vaideeki Agnimukham is different and has a set of niyamas imposed by Vaideeki dharmam.
.
Dear P. It says why I have started the gorup. This group is a dedication to Sri Swaprakashanandaji Anakapalli Guruvugaaru. He is my janma-kartha and my father's guru. I grew up in His lap and used to visit both Anakapalli and Gopalpatnam often and even stay in his room for days.
This being so, I have heard about Sri Prahalad Shastry Amrita both through Guruvgaaru and my father and have been to the temple once. Prahalad Shastry is a disciple of Sri Swaprakashanandaji who has attained mahasamadhi I was in Canada then freezing in Winnipeg winter!
In the reply however, I have not mentioned that I have been to Devipuram recently rather I took the file from their archives source of the file. Yes, you are right, I waas talking about that Devipuram on Anakapalli-Sabbavaram route. Jaya Gurudeva Prabhanja Datta-Nayaka! Did you say that went to Devipuram?. On Anakapalle- Sabbavaram route? Did you meet Dr. He is my brother's father in law.
Let me know more abt yr visit to Devipuram,if it is the same one I mentioned above. Download the Blue Frog. You're invited to try the new Mail Beta. Swaprakashanandaji is my father's guru. Join the conversation You are posting as a guest. Reply to this topic Go To Topic Listing. Support the Ashram. Vishnu Sahasranamam MP3. Sri Rudram MP3. Sign In Sign Up.
